When Bill Maines saw in the Lake Forest newspaper a calendar of weekly events featuring CRC’s services, he inquired about the organization. In February 2002, Bill decided to join CRC as one of the many talented advisors.

With an undergraduate degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Indiana University, Bill worked at General Electric for 25 years until a career transition brought him to Illinois to work for Sears, Roebuck and Co. He served as VP General Manager of Commercial Products for 12 years before retiring.

Having gone through outplacement services himself during his career transition, Bill became familiar with the process. What he likes about volunteering for CRC is the opportunity to help people who are in a potentially confusing, difficult and frustrating time. Especially with higher numbers of job seekers, there is an even stronger need to have the “tools in the bag” to be ahead of the crowd. Bill hopes by volunteering at CRC he can help equip people to succeed.
