For an effective job search, you must research potential employers.  Jami will demonstrate how to use a multitude of online databases available through public libraries to research companies and industries, how to create a list of target companies, stay updated on industry/company news and how to get up to speed on an industry new to you.

As a business librarian at Northwestern University, Jami is Business Subject Specialist and Liaison to Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.  Prior to that she was a Business Librarian at Gast Business Library, Michigan State University.

Jami received her MBA in Finance, Accounting and Economics from the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business; an MLIS from University of California, Los Angeles; and a B.A. in English at Beijing International Studies University.

Students should have a basic knowledge of computers and MS Excel 2007
No books will be required.

All course material will be provided. There are no required materials to purchase before taking the class. In order to fully benefit from this course, though, you should have access to Microsoft Excel 2007.
