CAREER RESOURCE CENTER’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY FEATURES COHEN OF LINKEDIN-CHICAGO

(Lake Forest, IL)— David Cohen, Central Regional Director of LinkedIn-Chicago will be the Keynote Speaker at Career Resource Center’s 20th Anniversary Event on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Larry Potash, WGN News Anchor, will emcee the evening at the Highland Park Country Club, 1201 Park Avenue West in Highland Park. Legacy to Legendary, the First 20 Years and Beyond is the theme. The evening will begin at 6:30 and conclude at 10 pm. The program will also recognize and honor the wealth of talent devoted to CRC, a proven, confidence-building, re-employment program which features individual coaching, training and resources.

For $20, guests will enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and desserts and have access to a cash bar. In addition to the keynote speaker, entertainment will be provided, as well as the opportunity to network with business, community, and government leaders and CRC donors, volunteers, clients, and alumni. Early reservations are recommended, as space is limited. CRC staff and volunteers have served over 10,500 individuals as their “Job Search Partner” since 1990,” reports Executive Director Jan Cline Leahy. She states that their success is due to working with each job seeker individually, focusing on their goals and needs, and helping them better articulate their value to an employer. Alumni surveyed in 2009 indicated that 83% were successfully employed, and over 58% indicated they were more satisfied with their new position.

Career Resource Center was founded as a religious outreach mission and evolved into a regional, career-transition center that serves over 1,000 individuals annually through its innovative model of using volunteers with professional experience. Unique to CRC is their lean staff (one full-time Executive Director and three part-time employees) and strong volunteer network of over 115 individuals. Volunteers deliver client services from reception to professional advising. Advisors are high-quality business leaders in key areas of management, including human resources, marketing, consulting and technology.

Clients pay an affordable fee ($100) for up to twelve months of services and have access to a wealth of seminars and monthly workshops, plus the unique advantage of access to private advisory sessions throughout their search.
